Cooking up some good scents w/Pam Tand

tn_floralbathmeltsYou can’t eat them, but you wish you could. They smell that yummy! Like the list of soaps she creates….the chocolate soap, or the fresh apricot, fresh blueberry, fresh cucumbers and Honeydew Melon, Lavender & Thyme, Cinnamon & Ginger, Peppermint & Tea Tree and Forest fresh. The list is way longer!

We spoke with Pam Tand, the owner of Stambry’s Crescent Moon Soap Company, started because her daughter had allergies to most commercial soap products. “They call me the mad scientist!” she laughed because I’m always cooking up a new recipe (of soap).”

And it’s true. If you don’t see it, but can imagine it, she’ll cook it up in her magical lab and increase the intensity until you’re dreaming about a hot bath!

Visit your local farmers market – you won’t be disappointed!

I am obsessed with our local farmers markets. It is my quest to visit all of the markets on the south shore, and so far I’ve been to 5. After all, I need to balance out my cupcake crusade with good, healthy food!

Here’s a list, by day, of all the local markets. It’s the season of the harvest – take advantage!

TUESDAY: Bridgewater – 3-6 @ Spring & Broad/Rt 128

WEDNESDAY: Hingham – 10 – 2 @ Hingham Square/Duxbury – 12:30 – 4:30 @ Tarklin Com. Center/Rt. 52

THURSDAY: Cohasset – 2:30 – 6:30 @ the Common/Plymouth – 2:30 – 6:30 @ Stephen’s Field / 3A

FRIDAY: Quincy – 11:30 – 5:30 @ Parking lot across from Court House/Hull – 3 – 7 on Nantasket Ave till Sept 11
